Pg 13

“Arghhhhh, Vincent. . . you know when you get that feeling?”
“What feeling?”
“That feeling, Yeah, that. . . .feeling”
“Describe it to me, Catherine… in great detail”
“It’s the one that hits me in traffic”
“In TRAFFIC?”
“Or it hits me when I get out of the shower”
“Traffic, the shower?”
“What is it about you? Is it being thicker skinned or just
being a guy?”
“Catherine, I can assure you that being a guy does sort of
separate the types of feelings I have from the ones you have. You know being
such a strikingly beautiful, young woman I can understand you get those. . .
.feelings.”
“Uhuh…sure, that’s a man talking for sure”
“Catherine, this is about you. I was being dismissive. Tell
me, tell me about THAT FEELING”
“Oh, sure now that you think there is something in it for
you”
“Catherine”
“Sometimes I think I need to have these conversations with
Mary”
“Personally, I would rather you NOT have these types of
conversations with Mary, what goes into her ears frequently travels rapidly
into Father’s”
“And you think this is something to be ashamed of?”
“It’s just I like a nice wide and high fence between what
Father knows about, ah…. Feelings between us”
“What kind of feelings did you think I was talking about? My
back itches, I can’t reach it. Scratch a little lower!”
